Van Gogh With the Flow

Cristian R.
The students have been working on making their own interpretations of Van Gogh's infamous painting "Starry Night". They looked at many examples of artists making interpretations and were allowed to add whatever their little hearts desired.

The 8th graders did not have to choose "Starry Night" and were able to choose other famous paintings to interpret.

We are currently engaged with the Van Gogh With the flow project. I think that kids are really getting their "creative juices" flowing, like 6th grader Sandy. Sandy has created a wonderful drawing that includes two couples that are looking at the sky on a hill.Another one of our 6th graders, Daryl has a beautiful drawing of a cake that also has Van Gogh's style in the sky another 6th grader ,Han has put a picture of a girl and Van Goghs style in the sky. we also did a quick write and wrote letters to Van Gogh, even though hes dead and won't be able to read them it helpos get our questions that we have for him out on paper, many kids have commented on him cutting off his ear I personaly want to know what the story was behind that. thank you so much for listening to my comments ,states, and opinions.-Kourtney C.

The Van Gogh  with the flow project is probably  the most detailed piece of art work that we have done all semester. Everyone is coming up with their own ideas foe the backgrounds but there is still going to be the abstract style of Starry night. I have seen some pretty cool paintings so far but i don't really like mine because I messed up about a billion times. I made a recreated Pac Man and I made the circles that Pac Man eats into the Starry night stars in the sky. We have all been working very hard and hopefully we will all be done by the end of this week. -Emily S.
