The Des Moines school district is celebrating the accomplishments of dozens of students this month with its annual art exhibit on display at the State of Iowa Historical Building, 600 E. Locust St. The work of the K-12 students will be on display through Feb. 20.

Art teachers from each school arrived that day with several two- and three-dimensional works by their students that they had selected. Each school got to show work on folding display boards set up in the main floor lobby of the museum.
A reception to open the exhibit was held on Thursday.
Included in the exhibit are yarn weavings, pottery and a photographic essay on poverty .
Hours at the museum are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and noon to 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
