El Dia de los Muertos

At Hiatt in 6th grade art we are also making " Day of the dead " masks but we are making them with paper machePaper mache is a mixture of white glue and water. Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday that starts on November 1st. People celebrate the passing of their ancestors, its not a sad thing to them.
Paper mache is very fun and messy. You could try it at home but ask your parents first. You will need a base structure, news paper, and copy paper you can also decorate it yourself. Most people like to paint their mask with colorful paints. People also like to decorate with glitter, string, ribbon, and colorful paper. This is one of the fun things we've done this year, or I would say the most fun things we've done this year.

Paper mache is a combination of water and glue, it is fun to do paper mache. Paper mache does not take that long to do. After you do all the dipping and all the dripping you can decorate you mask. I would say the best part of paper mache is the decorating, because you can use any color or add on anything you want and then when your all finished you can take your mask home and all through the process you have a lot of fun with your friends and teacher .
