Welcome Back!

Welcome back from Thanksgiving break.

Do Now: Write about your favorite type of art that you have learned about so far this semester. After you decide which is your favorite, write about what you know about it! Complete sentences please. You are as smart as you allow yourself to be!

Today we will just be going through reminder expectations for our choice art room!

Here are our overarching "I Can" statements:

  • I can explore different media and techniques during choice time.

Five Minute Frenzy

Do Now:   Remember complete sentences artists! Your education is your responsibility!

Is there a project or material that you have been putting off during choice time?

What about in other classes?

Do you put off cleaning your room or doing your chores?

Click on the image below to be taken to the Art of Education article about Five Minute Frenzy:

Today during the first 5 minutes of choice time you are going to work with that material or project that you have been meaning to get done, but have been putting it off. When the timer goes off you can choose to continue working on something else or keep working on that project!

Did the Five Minute Frenzy help you complete a task that you have been putting off?

Would you use this technique outside of art?

b. How does poverty, on a national and individual level, affect a family’s ability to send their children to school? According to the article, what are some nations doing to encourage and help families living in extreme poverty to prioritize education?
c.In what type of community (e.g.: urban, suburban, rural) is the access to education most challenging and what is one example the author gives to illustrate this? Using your background knowledge, give two additional examples of issues that might make access to education in rural community particularly difficult.
